Bilborough College students are celebrating after achieving excellent results.
There was 99.2% A Level pass rate, exceeding 98% for the twelfth consecutive year, with 27 of the subjects on offer reaching pass rates of 100%.
Aidan Forknall is celebrating after securing a place at the University of Nottingham to study aerospace engineering.
The 18-year-old achieved an A* in Maths, A in Further Maths and A in Physics.
He said: “I am really happy. I needed three As to get into Nottingham and I have done that. I think I would like to be an aerospace engineer or an aerodynamicist but I’m not sure yet.
“I chose Nottingham as it is a new course and has lots of elements from other courses included.”
Joshua Parker-Bennett, 19, is delighted after achieving a two Distinction* and a Distinction in his BTEC in business studies.
He is now planning to go to the University of Exeter to study law. “I am happy with my results and really looking forward to going to study law,” said Joshua. “I became interested in law when I was in year 8 and I think it is such a vibrant subject and it could lead to lots of different careers.”
Lydia Lemard is looking forward to taking the next step on the path towards becoming a psychologist.
She achieved A grades in Psychology, Sociology and English Literature and now plans to study psychology at the University of Cardiff. In Year 12 she received the Bilborough College award for the best performance in sociology and she has built on that success.
“I am really happy that all my hard work has paid off,” said the 18-year-old from Aspley. “I am really motivated to do well and I want to go on to help people with mental health needs. I want to be able to influence people and become a motivational speaker.
“I just want to say that success belongs to the most persevering and so don’t give up!”
