You’ll find everything you need to know about applying, offers, taster days and enrolment below. Got a question? Just get in touch – we’re happy to help!

Submitting Your Application

  • Apply online through our portal.
  • Students choose three subjects to study over two years. If you choose Further Maths, you can study four.
  • Your predicted/mock grades are not required. We only need results from qualifications you have achieved already.
  • Once you’ve filled everything in and clicked ‘Submit’, you’ll get an email confirming that your application has been received.
  • When we start to process it, we’ll send you another email to confirm.

Applications are only processed during college working hours (Monday–Friday, term time).

If you realise you’ve missed something out, don’t send another application. Just email us at admissions@bilborough.ac.uk and we’ll update it for you.

If you haven’t received a confirmation email, please contact us – it might be because:

  • Your email address was entered incorrectly,
  • Your application hasn’t been submitted successfully
  • There was a temporary technical issue when you clicked submit.

Important: Most emails are sent from noreply@bilborough.ac.uk, but sometimes from admissions@bilborough.ac.uk.

  • Check your junk/spam folder if you don’t see anything.
  • Make sure your contact details are correct – if not, you won’t get our messages.
  • If a parent/carer applied on your behalf, emails may be sent to their address instead of yours.

Offers

From October half-term, we start sending out provisional offers. We’ll email you when we have an update about your application. When you receive an offer, we’ll email you and your parent/guardian a leaflet with your course requirements.

There is no fixed deadline for applications. However, applications may close if we reach capacity, so we recommend submitting your application as early as possible to avoid disappointment.

Taster Days

Our Taster Days take place in July 2027:

  • Thursday 15th July
  • Friday 16th July
  • Monday 19th July

These days give you the chance to:

  • Try out lessons in your chosen subjects
  • Look around the college
  • Meet other students
  • Get a feel for student life

If you’re unsure about your subjects, you can try different sessions to help you decide. Invitations will be emailed in February/March, with final details sent in June.

⚠️If you don’t respond to your taster day invitation, we’ll assume you no longer require a place at the college.

Enrolment

After Taster Days, we’ll send you an email inviting you to enrol.

  • Enrolment takes place over three days (19th, 20th & 23rd August). Booking is required. It’s not first-come, first-served, so don’t worry which day you book on.
  • If you can’t attend, email us with your official GCSE results and chosen subjects. If we don’t hear from you, we’ll assume you’ve changed your mind about joining.

At enrolment, you’ll:

  • Have a chat about your subjects – bring your GCSE results as evidence
  • Be able to request subject changes, subject to availability and grades
  • Get your student ID and lanyard, which you must wear while you’re on site for safety and safeguarding
  • Receive a welcome letter with start-of-year information and enrichment opportunities

FAQs

Do I need to add my predicted grades?
If you haven’t yet taken your exams, you don’t need to enter predicted grades. Please select ‘No Prior Qualifications’. Add any results from qualifications you have already achieved. Any offer you receive will be subject to you achieving the required grades for Bilborough College and for the subjects you have chosen.

What if I make a mistake on my application?
Don’t submit another application. Just email admissions@bilborough.ac.uk and let us know what needs changing, and we’ll update your application for you.

What if I don’t receive a confirmation email?
You should receive a confirmation email after submitting your application. If you don’t receive one, check your junk/spam folder first and make sure the email address you applied with is correct.
