Bilborough College students had another excellent year of results in 2020, maintaining our 98%+ pass rate for A levels and equivalents for the 16th year in a row and seeing 49% of all grades awarded at A*-B. As you will be aware, exams did not take place in 2020 and students were awarded Centre Assessed Grades. Our students had the benefit of being in such a consistently high-performing college, as it allowed us to award these high grades in line with our previous performance.
Bilborough College prides itself on our preparation for university and the world of work and we know from the Higher Education Statistics Agency (HESA) that our students who do go on to university achieve almost 10% more first class and 2:1 degrees that the state sector average so we are confident that those that have headed off to the next level of study this year will be very well prepared for success. We also saw 13 students accepted to either Oxford or Cambridge universities, and hundreds more moving on to other high quality university and apprenticeship destinations, as we help our students achieve their dreams. Congratulations to all of the hard work that went into these achievements.
