To study at Bilborough 6th Form College you will need the equivalent of at least five GCSEs at grade 4 or above. Some subjects have higher entry requirements to ensure you will cope well with the course content – please see the guides to individual subjects. If you meet these requirements, you can apply to Bilborough Sixth Form College.

If possible, please come and visit us!

Our Open Days are on hold for the moment, but keep coming back to our website for information on how you can visit us “virtually” and other ways you can get to know us.

We know that Open Days are the best way for young people to find out more about what we have to offer so we’re hoping to be able to hold some events for our next intake of students and their parents again, just as soon as we’re sure this can be done safely – even if this has to be on a smaller scale than what we’ve done in the past. Any events that we do plan will be promoted to students who have already applied for September 2021. Apply online to receive invitations to all of our live events as they become available.

If you can, we prefer you to apply online, but if you want a paper application form, just let us know. In order to use our online application system you will need to register and provide us with an email address and we will use this email address to keep you informed of how your application is progressing. Please take time to read through the information and advice in the pages in our online application system and if you have any queries, just get in touch – we’d love to hear from you!

Our online applications system – what happens after you’ve applied?

Once you have completed your application, and pressed “submit” you will receive an email acknowledgement from us almost instantly. If you don’t get your confirmation email, please get in touch with us to check all is well with your application. It is very rare for this to happen, but sometimes it happens if:

  • You submitted an invalid or incorrect email address
  • Our system became temporarily unavailable at the time you pressed submit
  • You submitted your application very close to the times that our back-up processes run

Once we receive your application we check it and send a second email confirming what happens next (this information is also sent out to your parents in a leaflet).

In most cases, at this stage we offer a place, subject to a satisfactory reference from your school and confirmation of your predicted grades which we request. This means that provided you achieve the required GCSE grades, you can have your place at Bilborough Sixth Form College.

Occasionally, based on your predicted grades and school reference, we may invite you in for a brief interview, just to check that your chosen course is absolutely right for you but for most students this is not necessary.

Remember – you are welcome to contact us at any time to check the progress of your application.
