Q: Do I need any previous experience in electronics?
You do not need previous experience. The course is delivered assuming no knowledge of electronics. Do not worry if you do know things, lessons are differentiated so you will still be challenged.
Q: What equipment do I need to study electronics?
You will need a pen, paper, ruler, and scientific calculator. I recommend a Casio.
Q: How much independent study will I be expected to do?
5 hours per week. There will be a mix of homework sheets, independent tasks, research, and coursework.
Q: Do we have a practical exam?
There is no practical exam, but you must design, build, and test a circuit as part of your coursework.
Q: What programming language do we learn?
You learn Assembly Language. It is a low-level language and very useful for learning higher level languages such as Python.
Q: Can I take the course if I am colour blind?
Yes you can, when using wire make sure you use colours you can distinguish between.
Q: How many students will be in the class?
We have a maximum of 21 students in the classroom.
